Network Metals LLC began in 2004 as a metals, ores and alloys import/distribution company based in New York. The company was established with the objective of providing globally sourced metals, ores and alloys to smelters, foundries and fabricating mills. The company’s network of global suppliers has been an important part of its success. Strong relationships, established over 30 years, have enabled Network Metals to discover, design and deliver according to specific customer needs. Flexibility in pricing through hedging has also been an important part of the company’s success, and has helped customers and suppliers to widen their profit margins.
In 2006 Network Metals also began to provide consulting services to consumers, producers and a wide range of industrial metals and raw material players in the physical and financial world. These services include commercial marketing of raw materials, hedging programs and transportation. Financial investment funds especially prefer these consulting services because of the company’s direct involvement in trading and distributing metals and ores on a global basis.

In 2012 Network Metals began expanding its trading operations to include general import and export of consumer products with a specific expertise in marketing through e-commerce solutions. Products include home& garden equipment, sports accessories and general consumer goods.
Specifically, Network Metals has worked with new inventors on bringing their products to life by helping manufacture, transport and market these unique and innovative ideas.
Sales channels include traditional brick-and-mortar retail outlets but the expertise of marketing through e-commerce channels has become a highlight in the Network Metals corporate success.
Network Metals is led by Josh Kalter (President/Owner): Mr. Kalter has over 30 years of experience in trading metals, ores, and alloys in international trading firms. Specifically he has physical trading expertise in non-ferrous metals and has traded on the LME and COMEX. Mr. Kalter has great familiarity with producers and consumers on both the executive and plant levels in the metals, automotive, building and construction, packaging and steel industries. Mr. Kalter has extensive knowledge of the global metals, ores, and alloys transportation and logistics operations. He has also established detailed hedging, offtake, freight, warehousing, and distribution programs for the metals industry. Mr. Kalter consults extensively with a wide array of hedge funds and financial institutions regarding the physical metal markets, and has delivered seminars on various topics. His expertise includes aluminum, copper, nickel, zinc, lead, tin, silicon, magnesium, manganese, chrome, titanium, molybdenum, vanadium, ferroalloys, steel industry raw materials, scrap & recycling, and base metal alloys. Mr. Kalter holds a Series 7 and 63 licenses and a BS and an MBA from New York University.
Mr. Kalter is also part owner of Masterloy Products Co.(www.masterloy.com) an Ottawa, Canada based ferroalloy conversion facility that processes molybdenum and vanadium oxides into ferroalloys for the steel industry.
